Procedure: To a solution of 3-fluoro-4-methoxybenzyl alcohol (1 g, 6.5 mmol) in dichloromethane (10 mL) were added under ice-cooling triethylamine (1.8 mL, 13 mmol) and methanesulfonyl chloride (0.60 mL, 7 mmol) and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 30 min. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure and the obtained residue was dissolved in ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with saturated brine and dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure to give an almost pure title compound (1.1 g, 100%). The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure the obtained residue was dissolved in ethyl acetate The organic layer was washed with saturated brine dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure
