Procedure: 13.1 g of 2-(2-tert.-butoxycarbonylimino-4-thiazolin-4-yl)-glyoxylic acid are dissolved in 160 ml of ethanol by warming for a short time. 5.5 g of 1-amino-2-oxo-3-methyl-imidazolidine are added to this solution at 20° C. After standing overnight, the reaction mixture is evaporated in a rotary evaporator, the residue is treated with water and the precipitate is filtered off. Excess NaHCO3 solution is added to this precipitate and the undissolved material is filtered off.
