Procedure: To 2-(2-oxopyrrolidin-1-yl)propanoic acid (942 mgs, 6.0 mmol) in DMF (8 mL), was added HATU (2.4 g, 6.4 mmol), 4-Amino-benzoic acid methyl ester (660 mg, 4.0 mmol) and NMM (1.8 mL, 16.0 mmol) and stirred at 55° C. for 16 hours. The reaction mixture was diluted with ethyl acetate (100 mL) and washed with 1 N HCl, saturated NaHCO3, water, brine and dried over MgSO4. Filtration and concentration gave methyl 4-(N-methyl-2-(2-oxopyrrolidin-1-yl)propanamido)benzoate. washed with 1 N HCl, saturated NaHCO3, water, brine dried over MgSO4 Filtration and concentration
