Procedure: The same reaction as in Example 1 (1b) was conducted using N-(4-hydroxybenzoyl)glycine tert-butyl ester (250 mg, 0.995 mmol) prepared in Example 1 (1a) and 2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-2-ylmethanol (which is the compound disclosed in J. Med. Chem., (1989), 32, 1326-1334, 165 mg, 1.11 mmol) to give 263 mg of the title compound (colorless crystalline solid, yield: 85%).
