Procedure: To the resin from stage 58.1 (350 mg, ˜0.3 mmol) are added successively 4-(4-fluorobutoxy)-benzenesulfonyl chloride (306 mg, 1.15 mmol) in dry dichloromethane (4 ml), and N-ethyldiisopropylamine (0.24 ml, 1.40 mmol) in dry dichloromethane (4 ml). After stirring for 15 h at r.t. the suspension is filtered and the resin washed with dichloromethane (2×), DMF (2×), alternating with H2O and DMF (3×), alternating with THF and 2-propanol (3×), dichloromethane (3×). The resin is dried under reduced pressure to provide polymer-bound 2-[4-(4-fluoro-butoxy)-benzenesulfonylamino]-N-hydroxy-acetamide. is filtered the resin washed with dichloromethane (2×), DMF (2×) The resin is dried under reduced pressure

Procedure: 100 mmol (9 g) glycine hydroxamic acid were cooled to −25° C. in 200 ml water and methanol each, 100 mmol (15.4 ml 40% solution) methylglyoxal were added dropwise and subsequently the pH was adjusted to approximately pH 11 with 10 ml 30% NaOH. Heating up to 5° C. was carried out in 2 h and concentrated under vacuum to half of the solvent volume. A pH 3 was adjusted with 20% HCl, precipitated solid was filtered off and dried. 7.28 g (52% yield) of the title compound were obtained. concentrated under vacuum to half of the solvent volume precipitated solid was filtered off dried
