Procedure: To a solution of 1-cyclopentylethan-1-ol (1.14 g, 10.0 mmol) in dichloromethane (20 mL) is added rhodium (II) acetate dimer (10 mg) followed by ethyl diazoacetate (0.95 mL, 9.03 mmol). The reaction mixture is stirred at rt for 0.5 h. The reaction mixture is diluted with heptane, and filtered. The filtrate is evaporated, and the residue is purified by chromatography on silica gel; elution with EtOAc:heptane (1:9) gives 0.81 g of the product 452. 1H NMR (CDCl3) δ 4.30-4.15 (m, 2 H), 4.09 (d, 2 H), 3.25-3.15 (m, 1 H), 2.00-1.78 (m, 2 H), 1.75-1.35 (m, 6 H), 1.29 (t, 3 H), 1.15 (d, 3 H). filtered The filtrate is evaporated the residue is purified by chromatography on silica gel elution with EtOAc:heptane (1:9)

Procedure: To a solution of 1-cyclopentylethanol (0.22 mL) in toluene (4 mL) was added sodium hydride (0.14 g), and the resulting mixture was stirred at 100° C. for 15 min under a nitrogen atmosphere. A mixture of tert-butyl 8-chloro-2,3-dihydropyrido[3,2-f][1,4]oxazepine-4(5H)-carboxylate (0.50 g), BINAP (0.033 g), Pd2(dba)3 (0.024 g) and toluene (4 mL) was added, and the resulting mixture was stirred at 100° C. for 2 hr under an argon atmosphere. The reaction solution was poured into water, and the resulting product was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with water and saturated brine and dried, and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (solvent gradient; 0→40% ethyl acetate/hexane) to give tert-butyl 8-(1-cyclopentylethoxy)-2,3-dihydropyrido[3,2-f][1,4]oxazepine-4(5H)-carboxylate (0.45 g, 70%) as a white powder. was added the resulting mixture was stirred at 100° C. for 2 hr under an argon atmosphere the resulting product was extracted with ethyl acetate The organic layer was washed with water and saturated brine dried the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (solvent gradient; 0→40% ethyl acetate/hexane)

Procedure: In 4 ml of tetrahydrofuran was suspended 0.10 g of sodium hydride (60% in oil), to which 0.4 ml of a solution containing 0.23 g of 1-cyclopentylethanol was added dropwise at 0° C., followed by stirring for 10 minutes. To this was added dropwise 0.4 ml of a solution containing 0.30 g of 4,6-dichloropyrimidine in tetrahydrofuran, followed by stirring at the same temperature for 4 hours. To this was added dropwise 0.4 ml of a solution containing 0.16 g of 2-butyn-1-ol in tetrahydrofuran and further added 0.10 g of sodium hydride (60% in oil), followed by stirring for 3 hours. The reaction mixture was then poured into a saturated aqueous ammonium chloride solution, which was extracted three times with t-butyl methyl ether. The combined organic layers were washed with a saturated aqueous sodium chloride solution, dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and then concentrated. The residue was subjected to silica gel column chromatography to give 0.25 g of 4-(2-butynyloxy)-6-(1-cyclopentylethyloxy)pyrimidine (the present, compound (26)). was added dropwise at 0° C. by stirring at the same temperature for 4 hours by stirring for 3 hours was extracted three times with t-butyl methyl ether The combined organic layers were washed with a saturated aqueous sodium chloride solution dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate concentrated
