Procedure: A mixture of 10.0 g. of 1,3-dihydro-7-(trifluoromethyl)-5-phenyl-2H-1,4-benzodiazepine-2-thione (V), 10.0 g. of 2-pentynylamine, and 150 ml. of dry tetrahydrofuran is stirred under nitrogen at ambient temperature for about 5 hours and then concentrated in vacuo. The residue thus obtained is recrystallized from methanol to give 7-trifluoromethyl-5-phenyl-2-(2-pentynylamino)-3H-1,4-benzodiazepine.
