Procedure: Fluorene (15.0 g, 90.4 mmol), n-BuLi (48.1 ml, 120 mmol, 2.5 M in hexane), RX=1-iodopropane (20.8 g, 122.3 mmol). 43 was isolated as a yellowish solid (18.6 g, quant.). The analytical data were identical to those found in the literature (A. Mathieu, Bull. Soc. Chim. Fr. 1971, 1526). 43 was isolated as a yellowish solid (18.6 g, quant.)
