Procedure: To the suspension of lithium aluminium hydride (15.2 g, 0.4 mol) in 600 mL of ether was added a solution of 4,5-dihydro-1,4-benzoxazepin-3(2H)-one (16.3 g, 0.1 mol) in 60 mL of tetrahydrofuran at room temperature. After being heated with stirring under reflux overnight, water was added dropwise to quench the reaction at 0° C., The resulting mixture was diluted with ethyl acetate, and then filtered by a pad of celite. The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure, followed by the addition of hydrochloric acid ethyl acetate solution. The hydrochloride was collected by filtration, washed with ethyl acetate then ether, and then dried in vacuo to give 13.5 g of product. MS obsd. (ESI+) [(M+H)+] 150. After being heated under reflux overnight to quench the reaction at 0° C. filtered by a pad of celite The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure followed by the addition of hydrochloric acid ethyl acetate solution The hydrochloride was collected by filtration washed with ethyl acetate ether, and then dried in vacuo

Procedure: The methanol solution of methyl (2-cyanophenoxy)acetate (40 g, 0.209 mol) was added to the mixture of Raney Ni (80 g) in 500 mL of methanol. The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight under hydrogen atmosphere. Raney Ni was removed by filtration, and the filtrated was concentrated under reduced pressure to give a residue which was purified by column chromatography on silica gel (methanol/dichloromethane, 1:50) to give 23 g of product. MS obsd. (ESI+) [(M+H)+] 164. Raney Ni was removed by filtration the filtrated was concentrated under reduced pressure to give a residue which was purified by column chromatography on silica gel (methanol/dichloromethane, 1:50)

Then, to the resulting solution were added 0.125 ml (1.5 equivalent) of 1,5-dibromopentane and 29.4 mg (1.2 equivalent) of a 60% sodium hydride oil dispersion and the mixture was stirred for 1.5 hour with ice-cooling. Thereafter, the reaction solution was reacted and/or treated and purified in the same manner as in Reference Example 1 to give 133 mg (yield: 69.5%) of the title compound. the solution then ice-cooled cooling Thereafter, the reaction solution was reacted treated purified in the same manner as in Reference Example 1
