Procedure: To a solution of compound 3a (0.50 g, 2 mmole) in anhydrous acetone (10 mL) were added potassium carbonate (0.69 g, 5 mmole) and iodomethane (0.28 mL, 4.4 mmol) and refluxed 8 hr.
