Procedure: Degassed isopropyl amine (1 ml, 11.6 mmol) of was added to 491 mg (2.886 mmol) of (phenylphosphinediyl)dimethanol (PhP(CH2OH)2) and the mixture was stirred overnight. The excess amine was removed in vacuo to afford the product as a viscous colorless oil. 1H NMR (400 Mhz, C6D6): δ 7.55 (m, 2H); 7.09 (m, 3H); 3.11 (m, 4H); 2.68 (m, 2H); 0.89 (m, 12H). 31P NMR (162 Mhz, C6D6): −29.5.
