Procedure: This compound was prepared by using procedures analogous to those described for the synthesis of Example 89, Step 2 starting from N-{3-[7-(1H-pyrazol-4-yl)imidazo[1,2-b]pyridazin-3-yl]phenyl}-N′-(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl)urea and cinnamonitrile. LCMS (M+H)+: m/z=531.2. This compound was prepared

Procedure: In a similar fashion, cinnamonitrile was treated with diisobutyl aluminum hydride and the intermediate aluminum-imine complex treated with (R)-1-(3-methoxyphenyl)ethylamine. The intermediate imine was treated with ethanolic sodium borohydride. Work-up and chromatography yielded (R)-N-(3-phenylprop-2-enyl)-1-(3-methoxyphenyl)ethylamine, 25E, as a clear colorless oil; m/z (rel. int.) 267 (M+. 3), 252 (14),176 (17), 135 (62),117 (100), 105 (28), 91 (56), 77 (33).

Procedure: To a mixture of 5.0 g (39 mmol) of cinnamonitrile and 7.6 g (39 mmol) of (p-tolylsulfonyl)methyl isocyanide in 35 mL of DMSO and 65 mL of ether is added over a 20 minute period a suspension of 1.86 g of a 60% oil suspension of sodium hydride (1.11 g; 46 mmol) in 80 mL of ether. The reaction mixture is maintained under nitrogen for an hour and then diluted with ether and water. The ether layer is separated, dried over magnesium sulfate, and concentrated in vacuo. The resulting oil is chromatographed on silica gel using 1:1 chloroform ethyl acetate to give 2.5 g of cream-colored solids. Recrystallization from etherhexane affords 1.15 g, m.p. 123°-125° C.; NMR M86-1077. is added over a 20 minute period The reaction mixture is maintained under nitrogen for an hour The ether layer is separated dried over magnesium sulfate concentrated in vacuo The resulting oil is chromatographed on silica gel using 1:1 chloroform ethyl acetate
