Procedure: 70.0 mg (0.124 mmol) of (4S)-3-oxo-8-[2-(8-tert-butoxycarbonyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydroimidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidin-2-yl)ethoxy]-2-(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl)-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-2-benzazepin-4-acetic acid obtained in Example 5-(a) and 88 μL (0.62 mmol) of heptyl alcohol were mixed, 1.55 mL (6.20 mmol) of 4N hydrogen chloride/1,4-dioxane solution was added to the mixture, and the resulting mixture was stirred under nitrogen gas atmosphere at 50° C. for 4 hours.

Procedure: 25.3 g (1.1 mole) of sodium dissolved in 464.8 g (4 mole) of heptyl alcohol was heated to 150° C and 54 g (0.49 mole) of 3-chloropropionic acid were added thereto dropwise with stirring. The mixture was heated for a further 2 hours and a precipitate appeared. The mixture was cooled and 1.5 liters of water were added. The mixture was extracted with ether and the aqueous phase was acidified with concentrated sulfuric acid. The mixture was extracted with ether and the ether phase was washed with water, dried and was concentrated. The residue was rectified to obtain 49 g (52% yield) of 3-heptyloxy-propionic acid as a colorless oil boiling at 165° C at 15 mm Hg and having a refractive index nD22 = 1.436. The mixture was heated for a further 2 hours The mixture was cooled The mixture was extracted with ether The mixture was extracted with ether the ether phase was washed with water dried was concentrated

Procedure: 58.30 Grams of 2,3-dichloro-1-propene were added dropwise to a mixture of 30.00 g of heptanol, 90 g of toluene, 120 g of water and 34.35 g of zinc powder at 45° C., and then the resultant mixture was allowed to react at the same temperature for 10 hours. After the reaction finished, zinc-derived insolubles were filtered off, and the resultant filtrate was subjected to separation. The organic phase was washed with a 7% sodium carbonate aqueous solution and then dried over sodium sulfate. The desiccant was filtered off, and then the toluene was distilled off under reduced pressure to give 47.14 g of 2-chloroallyl-n-hexylcarbinol. The results were as follows. to react at the same temperature for 10 hours were filtered off the resultant filtrate was subjected to separation The organic phase was washed with a 7% sodium carbonate aqueous solution dried over sodium sulfate The desiccant was filtered off the toluene was distilled off under reduced pressure
