Procedure: A solution of 3-(methylthio)-1-propanol (5.30 g, 50.0 mmol), triethylamine (10.5 mL, 75.0 mmol) and N,N,N′,N′-tetramethyl-1,6-hexanediamine (0.861 g, 5.00 mmol) in toluene (50 mL) was ice-cooled, and a solution of p-toluenesulfonyl chloride (14.3 g, 75.0 mmol) in toluene (50 mL) was added dropwise under nitrogen atmosphere. After completion of the dropwise addition, the mixture was stirred for 3 hr, during which the mixture was allowed to warm to room temperature. Water was added to the reaction mixture, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The extract was washed with saturated brine, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (ethyl acetate:hexane=10:90-40:60) to give the title compound (12.2 g, yield 94%) as a colorless oil. cooled After completion of the dropwise addition the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate The extract was washed with saturated brine dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate concentrated under reduced pressure The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (ethyl acetate:hexane=10:90-40:60)

Procedure: Tert-butyl 4-hydroxypiperidine-1-carboxylate (2.22 g, 10.0 mmol) was dissolved in acetonitrile (40 ml), to which triethylamine (2.74 ml, 19.7 mmol) and N,N,N′,N′-tetramethyl-1,6-diaminohexane (0.57 ml, 2.64 mmol) were added, and the mixture was cooled in an ice-bath. p-Toluenesulfonyl chloride (2.75 g, 14.4 mmol) was added to this mixture, which was allowed to return to room temperature and stirred overnight. Water was poured into the reaction mixture, and the mixture was extracted with diethyl ether. The extract was washed with brine, dried over magnesium sulfate, and then filtered. The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (methylene chloride/methanol=100/1) to afford tert-butyl 4-(toluene-4-sulfonyloxy)piperidine-1-carboxylate (4.16 g, yield 89%) as a pale yellow powder. were added the mixture was cooled in an ice-bath to return to room temperature the mixture was extracted with diethyl ether The extract was washed with brine dried over magnesium sulfate filtered The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (methylene chloride/methanol=100/1)

Procedure: Under a flow of nitrogen, 200 g of hydroxy polyester (Uralac ZW 3896 P) were dissolved in 300 g of toluene at 100° C. Then, 39.5 g hydroxyethylacrylate, 0.3 g MTBHQ, 0.30 g N, N, N′, N′-tetramethyl-1,6-hexane diamine and 0.03 g DBTL were added. The solution was cooled to 70° C., and 58.7 g of hexamethylene diisocyanate was added in 2.5 hours. Thirty minutes after the addition was finished, the toluene was removed by vacuum distillation at 125° C. to yield solid urethane acrylate. Thirty minutes after the addition the toluene was removed by vacuum distillation at 125° C.
