Procedure: To 1H-Pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine (6, 100.0 mg, 0.85 mmol) in methanol (50.0 mL) were added 4-(4-chloro-benzyloxy)-3-fluoro-benzaldehyde (46, 250.0 mg, 0.94 mmol, prepared as described in Example 15) and potassium hydroxide (1.00 g, 17.82 mmol) under an atmosphere of nitrogen. The reaction was stirred at room temperature overnight. The reaction was poured into water and extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate and filtered. The filtrate was concentrated and purified by silica gel column chromatography eluting with 30% ethyl acetate in hexane to give the compound (P-1895, 55 mg, 17.0%). MS (ESI) [M+H+]+=383.3. extracted with ethyl acetate The organic layer was dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate filtered The filtrate was concentrated purified by silica gel column chromatography eluting with 30% ethyl acetate in hexane
