Procedure: Sodium propanoate (0.88 g, 1.5 eq) and 2,6-dipropylphenol (1.09 g, 1.0 eq) were combined in Triflic Acid (5.0 g) as in Example 13, step 1. The resulting waxy solid was purified by chromatography on silica gel using ethyl acetate:hexanes:acetic acid (10:90:1) to give the titled phenol. The resulting waxy solid was purified by chromatography on silica gel
