Procedure: In 10 ml of anhydrous tetrahydrofuran was dissolved 1.5 g of 1-naphthylthioacetic acid and 1.16 g of carbonyldiimidazole was added to the solution followed by stirring at room temperature for 0.5 hours. After 1.08 g of N-pentylethylenediamine was added to the reaction solution, the mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight. The solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure followed by extraction with water and ethyl ether. After the organic layer was taken by fractionation, the organic layer was dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate. The drying agent was filtered off and the solvent was then removed under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (Wako Gel C-200, 300 g, methylene chloride/methanol=50/1→10/1) to give 1.06 g (yield: 46%) of the title compound as light yellow oil. was added to the solution the mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight The solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure followed by extraction with water and ethyl ether the organic layer was dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate The drying agent was filtered off the solvent was then removed under reduced pressure The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (Wako Gel C-200, 300 g, methylene chloride/methanol=50/1→10/1)
