Procedure: 2-Chloro-4-[(6,7-dimethoxy-4-quinazolinyl)oxy]-aniline (83 mg) was added to toluene/triethylamine=10/1 (8 ml), and the mixture was heated under reflux to prepare a solution. A solution of triphosgene (134 mg) in methylene chloride was then added to the solution, and the mixture was heated under reflux for 15 min. Subsequently, 2fluoro-α-methylbenzyl alcohol (55 mg) was added thereto, and the mixture was further stirred with heating under reflux for 2 hr. After the completion of the reaction, the reaction solution was allowed to cool to room temperature before distilled water was added thereto. The mixture was subjected to separatory extraction with chloroform, followed by washing with a 1 N aqueous hydrochloric acid solution and saturated brine. The washed solution was dried over sodium sulfate and was concentrated. The residue was purified on a column using chloroform/methanol to give the title compound (60 mg, yield 45%). the mixture was heated under reflux to prepare a solution the mixture was heated under reflux for 15 min with heating under reflux for 2 hr After the completion of the reaction before distilled water was added The mixture was subjected to separatory extraction with chloroform by washing with a 1 N aqueous hydrochloric acid solution and saturated brine The washed solution was dried over sodium sulfate was concentrated The residue was purified on a column

Procedure: 5-(4-Bromo-phenyl)-3-methyl-isoxazole-4-carboxylic acid (4 g, 14.2 mmol) was dissolved in toluene (150 mL). Triethylamine (2.187 mL, 15.6 mmol) was added, followed by diphenylphosphoryl azide (3.372 mL, 15.6 mmol), and the mixture was stirred for 10 minutes. 2-Fluoro-alpha-methylbenzyl alcohol (2 g, 15.6 mmol) was added, and the reaction was stirred at 80° C. overnight. The mixture was cooled to room temperature and concentrated, and the residue was partitioned between with EtOAc and water. The organic layer was washed 4 times with water and once with brine, and then dried, filtered, and concentrated, and the residue was purified by silica gel chromatography (dry load; 0-100% EtOAc in hexanes) to give [5-(4-bromo-phenyl)-3-methyl-isoxazol-4-yl]-carbamic acid 1-(2-fluoro-phenyl)-ethyl ester. the reaction was stirred at 80° C. overnight concentrated the residue was partitioned between with EtOAc and water The organic layer was washed 4 times with water once with brine, and then dried filtered concentrated the residue was purified by silica gel chromatography (dry load; 0-100% EtOAc in hexanes)

Procedure: A solution of 2.52 g (18 mmol) of 1-(2-fluorophenyl)ethanol in DMF was added dropwise to a mixture of 2.97 g (15mmol) of 4,7-dichloroquinoline and 0.50 g (21 mmol) of sodium hydride in 15 ml of DMF. After addition was complete, the mixture was heated to 160° C. After four hours the mixture was allowed to cool and 0.1 g of sodium hydride was added. Upon completion of the reaction, a few drops of water were carefully added to destroy excess sodium hydride. Then the solution was poured into water. The product was extracted into ethyl acetate, the ethyl acetate solution was washed three times with water, then dried, and evaporated, producing an oil that crystallized from heptane/ethyl acetate. Yield: 0.77 g M.P. 53°-54° C. After addition to cool were carefully added to destroy excess sodium hydride Then the solution was poured into water The product was extracted into ethyl acetate the ethyl acetate solution was washed three times with water dried evaporated producing an oil that crystallized from heptane/ethyl acetate
