Procedure: To a solution of (2-ethoxy-3-hydroxy-phenyl)-(1-triisopropylsilanyl-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridin-3-yl)-methanone (99, 40 mg, 0.064 mmol) in tetrahydrofuran (15 mL) was added sodium hydride (3.32 mg, 0.083 mmol) at room temperature under an atmosphere of nitrogen. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 40 minutes, then 1-bromomethyl-2-chloro-4-methanesulfonyl-benzene (21.72 mg, 0.077 mmol) was added to the reaction mixture. It was stirred at room temperature overnight. The mixture was then poured into water and was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was collected and washed with brine, dried over magnesium sulfate. After removal of the solvent, a crude compound as light yellow oil was obtained (100, 84 mg). It was stirred at room temperature overnight was extracted with ethyl acetate The organic layer was collected washed with brine dried over magnesium sulfate After removal of the solvent
