Procedure: Triethylamine (139 μL, 1 mmol) was added to a solution of {[4-(6′-amino-2′-methyl-4′-nitro-biphenyl-3-sulfonyl)-5-methylsulfanyl-thiophen-2-yl]-imino-methyl}-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester ((Example 295: step h) 118 mg, 0.21 mmol) in DCM (10 mL). 11-chlorocarbonyl-undecanoic acid ethyl ester (73 mg, 0.26 mmol) was added dropwise over 5 min. After 30 minutes of stirring, the reaction was not complete. Additional portions of acid chloride (3×1 eq) were added in a similar manner, until the reaction was complete. Addition of EtOAc (40 mL) followed by aqueous workup with NaHCO3 (2×20 mL) and brine (30 mL) yielded the crude amide (206 mg) as a glass. The residue was dissolved in EtOH (5 mL) and 4M aq NH4Cl (1 mL) was added. Iron powder (165 mg, 3 mmol) was added and the reaction was heated at 75° C. for 1 h. The cooled mixture was filtered through a 0.22 μm filter and solids washed with 5 mL portions of MeOH and EtOAc. Additional EtOAc (80 mL) was added and the organic solution was washed with citric acid (2×20 mL), NaHCO3 (2×30 mL), water (30 mL), and brine (50 mL). Drying and concentration of the solution yielded the title compound (165 mg) which was used without further purification. yielded the crude amide (206 mg) as a glass The cooled mixture was filtered through a 0.22 μm filter solids washed with 5 mL portions of MeOH and EtOAc Additional EtOAc (80 mL) was added the organic solution was washed with citric acid (2×20 mL), NaHCO3 (2×30 mL), water (30 mL), and brine (50 mL) Drying
