Procedure: 2-(4-(2-(2-(Tert-butyldimethylsilyloxy)ethoxy)ethoxy)-2-methylphenethyl)-8-methylbenzo[f][1,7]naphthyridin-5-amine was prepared following an analogous procedure to the preparation described for Example 145/Step 1, but using 4-(2-(5-amino-8-methylbenzo[f][1,7]naphthyridin-2-yl)ethyl)-3-methylphenol (from Example 50) with tert-butyl(2-(2-chloroethoxy)ethoxy)dimethylsilane.

Procedure: Imidazole (17.8 g, 261 mmol) was dissolved in dimethylformamide (100 ml) and t-butyldimethylsilyl chloride (36.3 g, 241 mmol) was added and stirred. 2-(2-chloroethoxy)ethanol (25.0 g, 200 mmol) was added dropwise over 1 hour under cooling with ice, and the mixture was stirred for 1 further hour, left standing overnight at room temperature, and then poured into saturated aqueous NaCl (500 ml). The resulting mixture was extracted twice with ether. The extract was washed twice with saturated aqueous NaCl, and dried over MgSO4. Then the solvent was removed in vacuo, giving 1-chloro-2-(2-t-butyldimethylsilyloxyethoxy)ethane (47.8 g, 100% yield). IR (CHCl3) [cm-1 ]; 2920, 2850, 1460, 1100, 930. NMR (CDCl3) [δ ppm]; 3.94-3.90 (4 H, m) 3.79-3.72 (4 H, m), 1.05 (9 H, s), 0.22 (6 H, s). under cooling with ice the mixture was stirred for 1 further hour left The resulting mixture was extracted twice with ether The extract was washed twice with saturated aqueous NaCl dried over MgSO4 Then the solvent was removed in vacuo

Procedure: To a solution of ethylene glycol mono-2-chloroethyl ether (6.2 g, 50 mmol) in acetonitrile (150 mg) were added imidazole (6.77 g, 99.54 mmol) and t-butyldimethylsilyl chloride (11.25 g, 74.65 mmol) at room temperature. The reaction mixture was stirred overnight at the same temperature. After the reaction was completed, the mixture was filtered through a filter paper, and concentrated under reduced pressure. Then, the concentrate was subjected to flash chromatography on silica gel (n-hexane:ethyl acetate=9:1) to give the title compound (11.0 g, yield 92%) as a colorless oil. the mixture was filtered through a filter paper concentrated under reduced pressure
